Gazelle

Breed history
Although originally from Sri Lanka, the Ceylon has some characteristics of Felis chaus, a cat from ancient Egypt. The breed was discovered in the early 1980s in Sri Lanka and was able to develop with crossbreeding of local cats and those arriving on the coasts of the Indian Ocean by boat.

The Ceylon arrives in Europe at the same time. His breed was registered by the International Commission of the International Feline Federation in 1989. However, he is still relatively unknown in Europe and the United States.
